The aim of the priority action is to comprehensively record the residue contamination of milk and egg samples from Austrian primary production. In accordance with the legal requirements, extensive analyses were carried out on the following groups of substances:
- banned substances
- substances authorised as veterinary medicinal products such as antibiotics, agents against endo- and ecto-parasites, painkillers and anti-inflammatory agents, including corticosteroids
- pesticides
90 samples from all over Austria were analysed. One sample was rejected:
- The maximum level for diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), was exceeded in a cow's milk sample
