Final report of the priority action A-807-24

The aim of the priority action was to analyse the "toxin genes" (ces gene) in the case of positive findings of presumptive Bacillus cereus.

40 samples from all over Austria were analysed. Two samples were rejected:

  • In two samples, the levels of presumptive Bacillus cereus exceeded 10,000 CFU/g. The samples were assessed as "not safe" - "unfit for human consumption"
  • ces gene could not be detected in any sample
