The aim of the focus campaign was to test for undesirable germs including viruses.
19 samples from all over Austria were analysed. Four samples were rejected:
- These four samples were unsuitable for human consumption due to very high levels of presumptive Bacillus cereus bacteria
Bacillus cereus bacteria are particularly resistant to heating and can therefore survive normal cooking temperatures, which kill almost all other bacteria. They can lead to nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea in humans.
