The aim of the focus action "Plastic identification and document control for packaging made of/with plastic in all stages of production and processing (incl. imported goods)" was to assess supporting documents such as test reports, calculations and conformity assessments at importers, manufacturers and processors.

73 samples from all over Austria were examined.

Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food specifies not only the contents of the declaration of compliance, but also the test conditions according to which this compliance must be established. In addition, the regulation also contains requirements for the composition of the plastic and with regard to the evaluation of substances not included in the Union list. This documentation must be available in the company and must be made accessible to the competent authorities for inspection purposes.
