The aim of the focus action was to systematically investigate kitchen appliances. A number of complaints from parties show that there is a need for investigation and control in this area. Kettles, rice stoves, dehydrators, electric citrus juicers, juicers, steam stoves, fondue machines, mixers/stand mixers, a bread maker, a camping container, a catering container, a meat grinder and a spiral slicer were examined.

• three samples (two juicers, one plastic dehydrator) showed elevated styrene migrations. There is currently no legal limit value for this substance
• one sample (rice stove: coated metal) gave off antimony (0.07 and 0.11 mg/l); there is no legal limit for antimony for metals and coatings, the tolerable daily intake was not exceeded
