The aim of the focus action was to check whether Halloween costumes for children meet the requirements of the Toy Ordinance 2011 regarding flammability.
20 samples from all over Austria were examined. One sample was objected to:
- the permissible burning time was significantly exceeded, more material than permitted burned down.
Toys must meet certain safety requirements. Among other things, toys must not constitute a dangerous flammable object in the child's environment. It must therefore be made of materials that are difficult to ignite or burn slowly once they have caught fire.
