The aim of the priority action was to check compliance with the maximum levels for hydrocyanic acid for linseed, almonds and apricot kernels.
50 samples from all over Austria were analysed. Six samples were rejected:
- Four samples (amaretti biscuits) were assessed as unsafe - unsuitable for human consumption
- Two samples (crushed linseed) were found to have labelling deficiencies, as the statement "Use only for cooking and baking. Do not consume raw" was missing
