The aim of the focus action was to check honey throughout Austria for authenticity and origin as part of the European Commission's OPSON X project. 20 samples from all over Austria were examined. Eight samples were rejected (in part several times):

  • two samples were judged to be adulterated
  • two samples were judged to be misleading
  • two samples did not comply with the Honey Ordinance (composition)
  • five samples were objected to according to the Food Information Regulation.
