We regularly test food for dioxins, dioxin-like PCBs and non-dioxin-like PCBs. Dioxins and PCBs are difficult to degrade, are transported long distances by wind and rain, and remain in the environment for many years. Due to their high fat solubility, they accumulate in living organisms in fatty tissues- PFAS are dirt-, grease-, and water-repellent industrial chemicals that have been used for decades in the manufacture of a wide variety of products. PFASs are difficult to degrade and are widely distributed in the environment. They can accumulate in the liver in humans.
