The aim of the focus action was to check tuna in already opened canned food or other already opened containers in the catering industry with regard to the content of biogenic amines and the hygiene status. 72 samples from all over Austria were examined. Twelve samples were rejected:
- seven samples were objected to according to the hygiene regulation
- four samples were assessed as impaired in value (microbiology)
- one sample was judged unsuitable for human consumption/intended use
