The aim of the focus action was to check the presence of dioxins, PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), chlorine pesticides, PFASs (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances), PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ethers) and HBCDDs (hexabromocyclododecanes) in foodstuffs from three selected regions of Austria. 31 samples were examined.

• The examination for PFAS showed elevated levels in five samples, of which the competent authority was informed.
• The examination for dioxins, PCBs, chlorine pesticides, PBDEs and HBCDDs did not reveal any abnormalities.

This focus action was a monitoring action.
