The objective of the focus action was the random monitoring of foodstuffs from Austrian production for the presence of per-sistent organic pollutants (POPs). 32 samples from all over Austria were examined.

No sample was objected to

Dioxins and PCBs are regularly monitored with focus actions. The focus action was extended to include the examination of other POPs on an ad hoc basis. Samples were taken specifically in the vicinity of industrial plants.
