The aim of the focal action was to check drinking water from mountain and mountain refuges, wine taverns and catering establishments with their own water supply to see whether food regulations were being complied with.
259 samples from all over Austria (except Vienna) were examined. 46 samples (24.9°%) were rejected:
- All samples due to microbiological contamination.
In the case of small drinking water suppliers (i.e. the daily delivery volume is less than 10 m³), there are often problems in complying with the requirements in microbiological terms. In the context of this action, businesses that use their own water and are not part of a water cooperative or community were examined.
