The aim of the focus action was to check whether dried soups (instant soups, "Packerlsuppen", bouillon cubes, bouillon powder) from third countries that had been treated with ionizing radiation were on the market in Austria.

Within the scope of this focus action, only products that were produced outside the EU and were not labeled "irradiated" or "treated with ionizing radiation" were examined. The samples examined originally came from Turkey, Japan, Thailand, China, South Korea, Vietnam, the Ivory Coast and Serbia (the order of the countries mentioned corresponds to the number of samples examined).
