The focus action "Veterinary drugs and pathogenic germs in duck and goose meat" was used to determine the extent to which these products contain residues of veterinary drugs such as antibiotics or antiparasitics and the contamination rate of ducks and geese with the pathogenic germs Campylobacter and Salmonella.

Forty-seven samples from all over Austria were examined. One sample was rejected because of Campylobacter and missing labeling.
