The aim of the focus action was to check whether or to what extent the toy scooters on the Austrian market meet the requirements of the legal standards and to withdraw dangerous products from circulation.

33 samples from all over Austria were examined. 14 samples were objected to (in some cases several times):

• Four samples were objected to (in some cases several times) due to safety defects: Four samples had technical defects, two of which were also rejected due to packaging film that was too thin
• Eleven samples had labeling deficiencies (illegally affixed age-related warnings, missing or deficient warnings, missing assembly instructions, missing instructions regarding the precautions to be taken)
• Eight samples because of a missing or defective EC declaration of conformity.
• One sample was rejected due to deficiencies regarding the Toy Labeling Regulation (missing information regarding name/address)
