The aim of the focus action was to verify compliance with the legal standards. In addition, the saliva and sweat fastness of the submitted samples was checked.

62 samples from all over Austria were examined, 28 samples were objected to (in some cases several times):

• Five samples were harmful to health
• Two samples were unsuitable for the intended use
• Two samples did not comply with the safety requirements of the Toy Ordinance
• One sample was rejected because the maximum content for benzo(e)pyrene was exceeded.
• Five samples were found to have labeling deficiencies
• 20 samples were rejected due to a missing or defective EC declaration of conformity
