The aim of the focus action was to check whether the requirements of the Toy Ordinance 2011 are met.

43 samples from all over Austria were examined. 23 samples were rejected:

• nine samples were objected to because of safety deficiencies such as greatly increased flame propagation speed, tips present, accessible filling material and packaging films that were too thin
• five samples were found to be defective in terms of labeling (inadequate or missing warnings)
• five samples showed deficiencies with regard to the toy labeling ordinance (including deficient/missing information regarding name/address)
• 17 samples were rejected due to a missing or deficient EC declaration of conformity
