The aim of the focus action was to obtain an overview of the contamination of infant formula and follow-on formula with regard to selected contaminants and residues.
80 samples from all over Austria were examined; three samples were rejected:
- - One sample was judged to be harmful to health due to the maximum level for glycidyl fatty acid esters (GE) being exceeded.
- - Two samples were objectionable due to the detection of phosphonic acid, but were not harmful to health
