The aim of the priority action was to comprehensively record the residue load of milk, egg and honey samples from Austrian primary production. Extensive investigations were carried out on the following groups of substances:
- prohibited substances
- pesticides
- heavy metals and metals
- mold poisons
- substances approved as veterinary medicines, such as antibiotics, agents against endo- and ectoparasites, painkillers and anti-inflammatory agents (including corticosteroids)
747 samples from all over Austria were examined. One sample was rejected:
- one sample of honey was objectionable due to exceeding the maximum content for lead.
