The aim of the focus action was to verify compliance with the legal requirements for kitchenware made of polyamide with regard to the migration of primary aromatic amines (PAA for short). 45 samples from all over Austria were examined. Five samples were objected to:

• two samples were judged to be harmful to health due to the release of PAAs
• two samples did not comply with the requirements of the Ordinance on Food Contact Materials (traceability not possible)
• one sample did not comply with the requirements of the Ordinance on Plastic Food Contact Materials (declaration of compliance incomplete).
