In the Ordinance on the Establishment of Maximum Levels for Certain Contaminants in Foodstuffs, maximum levels are specified for opium alkaloids and cadmium. These contaminants were therefore investigated in the product groups poppy seed and bakery products with poppy seed. 42 samples from all over Austria were examined.
