The aim of the priority action was to test these products for their organoleptic properties in relation to food due to their pronounced affinity for absorbing flavours and volatile substances. In addition, the investigation of other parameters, such as the content of volatile components in silicone elastomers and the migration of metals from elastomers, was of central importance.
50 samples from all over Austria were analysed. Two samples were rejected:
