Final report of the priority action A-003-24

The aim of the priority action was to check compliance with the specific European regulations currently in force for these groups of substances.

37 samples were analysed; these were drinking bottles and other items intended to come into contact with aqueous foodstuffs. These were analysed independently of the result of the material analysis with regard to the release of bisphenols (A, S, F) or, in the case of coatings, with regard to BADGE (bisphenol A diglycidyl ether), BFDGE (bisphenol F diglycidyl ether) and their derivatives as well as cyclo-di-BADGE with the food simulant D1 (50 % ethanol).

One sample was rejected:

  • A reusable polycarbonate cup referred in the declaration of conformity to the old limit value of 0.6 mg BPA/kg, which was no longer valid on the date of issue
