The aim of the focus action was to obtain an overview of the ingredients and the contamination of complementary foods in jars, metal foil stand-up pouches and thermoformed containers, as well as beverages for infants and young children with contaminants, pesticide residues and microorganisms. In addition, the national use situation of additives and flavors in the samples taken was to be surveyed.

68 samples from all over Austria were examined. No sample was objectionable due to ingredients, pesticide residues, contaminants or microbiology. However, 21 samples were objected to due to other food law deficiencies. These complaints related exclusively to labeling deficiencies
