Interlaboratory test of the ALVA - Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Lebensmittel-, Veterinär- und Agrarwesen (Working Group for Food, Veterinary and Agricultural Science)

The ALVA proficiency test of the Division of Feed, Animal Nutrition and Plant Analysis is an international proficiency test, which is performed once a year. The proficiency test 2025 comprises three samples: Compound feed, a mineral feed and a cereal, which can be ordered optionally. The samples are tested for elements and, in some cases, ingredients.

The goal of the ALVA proficiency test is to provide laboratories with opportunities to:

  • to check the accuracy of their procedures
  • verify the technical expertise of their personnel
  • verify the functionality of their laboratory equipment
  • test the suitability of methods for different matrices
  • meet the requirement of the accreditation bodies to participate in proficiency testing.

The organization and performance of this proficiency testing is based on EN ISO 17043.
