Radon (Rn-222) is a radioactive gas that occurs everywhere in the ground. Radon can penetrate buildings from the ground through cracks in the foundations or through pipes and accumulate in the indoor air. If it is inhaled over a long period of time, it can damage lung tissue.
Radon protection is largely a building issue. The webinar explains the basics of radon remediation and the implementation of radon remediation measures in accordance with ÖNORM S 5280-3 (including practical examples).
There are tried and tested construction measures to reduce radon levels indoors in a targeted manner. The issue of radon should be considered from the outset when planning and refurbishing buildings.
