Food additives are added to food for technological purposes such as preservation, colouring or flavour enhancement. In this course, we provide basic knowledge about the European Food Additives Regulation and its application. You will learn how to use and label food additives correctly. Current topics and developments in the field of additives are presented and information is provided on the monitoring of food additives, which places new demands on food business operators and authorities. Due to current events, the upcoming changes to the use of curing salt and smoke flavourings will be reported on.
