In this workshop, you as a biomedical analyst can expect a mix of theoretical input (zoonoses in the European context) and practical work in the microbiological laboratory (food testing, focus on quantitative and qualitative analysis of zoonotic bacteria).

- Theoretical overview of the requirements for food microbiology
- Zoonoses in the European context
- Practical sample preparation using current routine examples from the food routine
- Practical work in the microbiological laboratory
Skills acquisition
Biomedical analysts are given an overview of quantitative and qualitative microbiological diagnostics. In line with the One Health concept, the focus is on zoonotic pathogens and microbiological testing of plant and animal foods. Knowledge of various analysis methods and zoonosis expertise is imparted.

Notes
- The lecture documents will be made available to the participants in electronic form after the course.
- If possible, please bring your own lab coat - lab equipment will be provided.
- In the practical part of the workshop, participants will work in small groups with individual supervision.
- A table has been reserved at the Cafe-Froschkönig, Technikerstr. 84. A lunch buffet will be offered for approx. 15€ (not included in the participation fee)
