The aim of the priority action was to test for pyrrolizidine alkaloids in marjoram and oregano, mycotoxins (aflatoxins, ochratoxin A) in spices and to test for ionising radiation in all samples.

45 samples from all over Austria were analysed. One sample was rejected:

One sample of chilli exceeded the maximum level for ochratoxin A

No treatment with ionising radiation was detected in any of the 45 samples tested.
