Laboratories and institutes in Austria involved in the sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 viruses already provide their results on a voluntary basis within the GISAID initiative.
A scientific investigation of all available sequencing data can be given highest priority. For this reason, the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) has set itself the goal of processing the GISAID genome sequencing results within the framework of reports, thus identifying the occurrence of different variants of SARS-CoV-2 and making any developments and changes in Austria in this area visible.
In report number 10 the results of the Austrian GISAID data of the upload period 01.12.2021 to 31.12.2021 as well as summarized for the period 03.04.2020 to 31.12.2021 are given. Sequencing data from laboratories that do not make their results available on the GISAID database are not part of this report.
