The aim of the focus campaign was to test the Austrian market for the presence of antibiotic-resistant germs in chicken and turkey meat.
508 samples from all over Austria were analysed:
- ESBL/AmpC-forming E. coli was detectable in 126 samples
- Carbapenemase-producing E. coli were not detected in any of the samples
This priority action is a monitoring action that serves to monitor and report antibiotic resistance.
