National Reference Center for Salmonella

Our National Reference Center for Salmonella in Graz is located in our Public Health Business Unit and performs serotyping according to the White-Kauffmann-Le Minor scheme for all human and non-human salmonella detected in Austria; in addition, further differentiation is performed for the most important human-medical serotypes S. enteritidis and S. typhimurium using MLVA (Multi Locus Variable Number Tandem Repeats Analysis).
